About Us
Necwerk Productions was established in 2006 by writer Lanette M. White.  Lanette was born and raised in Detroit and has always had a love and passion for writing.  She started with poetry then later short stories and skits.  Lanette's first skit "Send Me I'll go" was performed at her church, Church In The Light Bishop Carl C. Duncan, pastor, in 1996.  Her next skit, "He's Alive"! was performed Easter Sunday at her church in 1998. Both were performed by The Church's Youth Department.  Lanette continued to write poems that she recited for her church audience as well as writing poetry for the youth of her church to recite for programs.  Of these poems were" When Santa Met Jesus" and "Brother's keeper".  Lanette Quit her job as a pre-school and early childhood educator in 2005, due to an illness.  It was in 2006 when she stepped out on faith to write her first full stage play, with much encouragement from long time friend and producer Shawn P. Williams, Church Folks?! was conceived.  Church Folks?! opened in downtown Detroit at the 1515 Theater on Broadway street. God blessed the performance to have six sold out shows, and was performed again by popular demand at the Ressurection Christian Church, and United Christian Church in 2007.  Also the play went to Flint Michigan and was performed at the Buckham Alley Theater in February 2007.  Church Folks?! is set to return with an all new cast in July 2009.  Her next play was The Other Side Of The Story which opened November 2007 with a double cast at the same theater, for two weeks with sold out shows!  Lanette and her producer decided to do a play dedicated to domestic violence with a twist.  Saving Mama is a play about domestic violence as told through the eyes of a sixteen year old teenage boy who witnesses the abuse of a step father to his mother as he tries to figure out a way to "save his mama." This play will be in production again in October 2009 with an all new cast.  Another play is also scheduled to open in August 2009 for the Murray Wright High School class of 1989 twenty year reunion.  Lanette was blessed to work with several good friends and high school classmates.
